Hello everyone!!  We are so in love with our Sandy it is just not funny!!  I do have a question for everyone...

Is there a doggie toy out there that anyone remembers Sandy loving in her foster home or one that your hounds seem to love?  I have tried everything from soft cuddly to hard plastic.  She doesn't even want anything to do with pig ears!!!  I want her to have something that she just loves.  I know she gets lonely when we can't be  home and she is getting a little more mischievious (we have to be on red alert every time a diaper is changed, Sandy sneaks up and steals them and runs outside to hide and eat as much as she can  EEEEEWWWW)

Thanks in advance for the help!!!

Nikole

That's a hard one.  I have one that loooooves toys... the squeakier the better!  But then I have one that won't have anything to do with toys at all.  She'd rather have treats!

A combination of the two might be good though... maybe a kong stuffed with something yummy?

One of my old slippers goes over pretty well too.

Good luck!

I agree the squeakier the better. I used to stand there and squeak it a million times, and then my Prince Harry would get it!
There are also toys that sound like grunting animals when you squeak them. Those work wonders too. Do you have other dogs that do play with toys? They seem to pick up on it quicker if they see another dog playing with the toy. If not maybe you can invite a neighbor dog to come over and show him how to play?
Just some thoughts...

That's a great point about watching other dogs!  I have had fosters who have picked it up after watching Bodhi play.  I also think it's a good idea to have the other dog play with your dog's toys.  I've seen it happen where toys that Bodhi has never touched suddenly become his favorites when another dog tries to play with them!

He's a jealous boy!

Hi Sandy's foster mom here and when she was here, she loved playing with my hounds, and she loves kiddie pools, but as far as toys go, she played with some toys but at her first trial home, because she really didn't know them she didn't play with toys as much but I do remember one time she took one of their hound's toy and took it out in the backyard and ran around.
But she really didn't play with toys as much as playing with other hounds.

I am hoping you will post pics.  also we were hoping you were gonna make it to the FDFF B-day party.  Maybe next time?????????
